new ideas

So recently, I had this great idea to make an album composed of lots of 30 minute improv sessions condensed into 30 second songs, as a sort of challenge to myself, which was surprisingly awesome, but so far am keeping the results to myself.

Then, I had an idea to make an EP of 26 songs all starting with a letter of the alphabet, A-Z, which I actually created titles for and have a photo of in a notebook, that compose a sort of roundabout epic sentence.  Still not sure on that one.

Later, I figured out how to make some videos, and decided to make a bandcamp album as a collection of older rare and somewhat exclusive tracks and perhaps covers.  Probably soon.  So,  yay!  La Fin Du Monde avoided so far.

Thinking of a lot of things.. Happy the album "11:11" is finally being released!
In the meantime I've created two new tracks for "Obligatory", had some remixes done, and people looking to do other remixes also.  I've started some new songs with a 30 minute creative expulsion limit, that's been kind of awesome, really.  I thought that giving myself a deadline might be helpful, and it was.  I have about 5 new songs started for a new album, with a name I've picked, but not ready to get it out there yet.  And, I'm really thinking I should finally re-record a lot of my old favorites.  Not only for perhaps live, but maybe re-release.  I think It's been long enough that maybe for the earlier albums I could do that, so we'll see how it all goes.  I've also been dabbling more into some video programs, so you tube may become more of a release venue.  Please check out the awesome recent animation videos!!

I've been thinking of letting you all in a lot more to what I'm doing at the time it happens, so as not to miss out on all the cool artistic experimentation before it gets edited down.

And, perhaps posting a random thought here and there.

Random thought for today:

"Sometimes I am a sad, tiny baby mouse waiting on your doorstep, shivering in the rain."


So we'll go with that for now! "11:11" soon! And another video or several. :)

Chiasm - "Obligatory" EP

I've been working on two new tracks for an online exclusive EP, Chiasm - "Obligatory"! There will also be some awesome remixes included. :) Thanks to everyone who contributed!

I have finished recording the new full-length Chiasm album, "11:11"! I am currently creating artwork and putting together some remix kits, so if you're interested in doing a remix, please contact me.

11:11

Chiasm (E. Rohn) has been busy in the studio since the release of the Apple Island EP in 2009 (on iTunes) working on her next full-length album, "11:11", to be released in 2011! The goal is to have 11 new songs completed, and the finish is approaching quickly. Tentative working track names so far (in no particular order) include:

7. reliance (revised from 1998 demo)

It's coming along great, and I'm having fun, so I'll keep you updated on a release!
